Klaus Breuninger studied piano, singing and conducting at the University of Music in Karlsruhe, Germany. From 1986 to 1988 he was a full-time student with Helmuth Rilling at the International Bach Academy Stuttgart. In 1988 he taught singing and music theory at the University of Zululand in the Republic of South Africa and directed the University Choir there. Since completing his studies Klaus Breuninger has worked as a freelance musician and director of various choirs and orchestras. In 1998 he founded along with fellow male singers from all over Germany the men’s choir “Die Meistersinger” with whom numerous acclaimed concerts were performed and five successful CDs were also produced, most recently Christmas songs entitled: “Still lies the winter night”. In collaboration with “musicpartner” and “Edition Peters” under the musical direction of Klaus Breuninger a successful series of learning CDs entitled “Chor singen leicht gemacht” (Choral singing made easy) has been created and in which almost all major oratorios have been released. In addition to brisk concert activity as a conductor, he also sings as a member of various semiprofessional choirs and vocal ensembles (for example, the Stuttgart Vocalists).
